Can you prove this? What does Kallis have going for him besides pretty stats? I think if you ignore about 13000 of Kallis' runs, which shouldn't count anyway, cos Kallis was not a matchwinner, Mcgrath's batting comes out on top.

Fwiw, if there's any spin in the wicket, I'm probably leaving put Ambrose for Gibbs. Think Holding is better on flatter wickets than sir Curtly.

He was only good with partnerships at the top of the order... holding records with Kirsten, Amla and ABdV....

I saw Kallis bat once and he did quite well while I was watching. He also comes before McGrath alphabetically. There's barely even a comparison to be had, really, when you think about it on those terms.

If I've done this correctly, I think Kallis was involved in five 10th wicket partnerships, none of them in matches which South Africa won. So McGrath still comes out ahead.
