The Geese won…so it’s a top of the table clash next week.

Mooo v The Wild Geese.
Yes I'm sorry if it seemed like i was putting the mark on Free HK - with a 39k XPV and a collection of very under baked beans playing for their IGT I was really not expecting the win. Finally 18 year old Zafar stepped up a gear at this level (before this he has scratched around for an average of 18 including BOT feasts!, so it was a surprise) which made things look better and 16 year old Hakeem did not get pelted like he deserved to. its a funny league because actually Gaukrodger are by far the best team on paper about 10k better but today they lost again, to a team who had lost 4 out of 5 previously in the league and you have to go very near the horizontal axis on the XPV graph to find :) ..... so yes by a strange default the Cows and the Geese are at the top of this peculiar Farmyard at the moment!

Just doing our best not to get into relegation zone at the moment. Ozzie Walker took career-best figures and Alex Hayden steadied the ship with the chase.
I’m happy with the win.

But tomorrow’s match against the Geese will be one to look out for…I don’t expect our boys to win, but hoping for them to put up a fight though.

in the CWC ? I will be frank (not Charlie!) - at this early stage I am hoping based on so far that Jura could make it to the Top 2 - it is not an unreasonable hope - but I would take them making the Top 6. Geese won't make the Top 2 so they can just best hope for Top 6 - I guess about 10 teams at the moment can reasonably hope they are fighting for a top 6 place.

A loss to Moo would not be a surprise - I think the 5 points losses in these '10 pointers' are the things that really hurt - in terms of performance and in how that will bite you in the final table

This man going for $1M is actually ridiculous... yes nice high actually skill numbers and still some potential. But a closer look at the record and you see he has never scored a 100 in SOD and only 1 in Dev... which is likely directly attributable to the very low stamina. Combined with low fielding and you realize you are paying $1M for a medium'ish decent player. Feels more like a $600K-$800K player max. Just an indication how nuts the TM feels at the moment. At least to me.
Nah I disagree. 20yo, well-developed 49 pot bat is always going for millions, especially with the TM being quiet recently. Record thus-far is to be damned – people quite rightly do all sorts of silly IGT things with youngsters. It's about this point players like Zulu absolutely smoke it, and he does average 54 this season!

I think you make a fair and good point about where his actual may end up - he is 41 now but he could well be 45 at 22. Havent looked closely enough at how that batting average is made up and what kind of opposition he was against but as his career ave in in the 20's and probably the opposition hasnt got worse - he is on the up - 'smoke it' ? ...

My Chaos Cup opponent just hit their first boundary on ball 24.2. I reckon this game is sealed tight for us!

I agree with the way the current TM is and managers desperation. I think that he is overpriced compared with his actual value and based on the TM 18 months ago. That stamina is gonna bite hard. Even if he is still a decent player.

This has been answered before but I've forgotten - do condition and touch play a role in friendlies? Or are they assumed at 100/10 for all players?

I'm sensing an AXW upset. Only scoring 260 with Ghani not batting and Ed Halliday facing 9 balls is such a waste of batting depth. MAS set too low it seems. I feel our bowlers are going to be underwhelming again and they'll coast it. ZCC properly suck these days.

FHK vs Jura should be a good game. 292 is the target for JCC, but the pitch is a batting beauty.

170 is a low enough total for TMOs to chase against the Astronauts but its a really tough pitch against a really good bowling attack.... so could fall short quickly.

TNT likely going to be hammered by GG cc...

Very happy with that TMO win today was a really tough wicket... lucky to have won the toss.

Levy and Kock pretty much career the TMO batting this season. Ncanana coming in with a few good cameos as well. Davidsons poor touch is biting hard.

haha

Excellent knock from Furqan; AX-W somehow escaping a true hammering through the meme 10 & 11 40-run partnership
