If all the players wore these, they'd never have to go off for bad light:The bad light issue sums up why test cricket struggles to survive.
People are paying good money to turn up to watch games. TV companies are paying huge sums to televise games.
And yet, time after time across the world, play halts when it's perfectly playable. Yes, conditions might not be perfect but they are in no way dangerous so play should continue.
The lost count of the number of times I've sat in grounds in England when the light isn't perfect but playable, only to see the players troop off.
The authorities have to act on this. Cricket doesn't exist in its own bubble, it relies on the paying public and TV companies paying for it.
Play should only stop when there is absolutely no alternative as to continue would endanger players safety.
Chill bro it was very obvious baitYou are fast becoming the most miserable CWer despite stiff competition. Starting to embody the most punishing (acceptable) aspects of this site. I can't remember the last time I saw you make a happy cricket post that wasn't a mean reaction to a player or poster you don't like.
Unlike your competition for the misery guts crown you're capable of much better. Sort it out. Take time out if you need. It can't feel good to be so negative all the time.
Make it funny then.Chill bro it was very obvious bait
Out of curiosity who is the other consistently miserable **** you were referring toMake it funny then.
I said what I said based on the long term trend.
Fair enough if you're basing this off tour threads but blame Rameez Raja for that one.Make it funny then.

Cos he boosted his average by hiding in the lower order - keep up man!The difference I suppose being Border still averaged over 40 during his ton-less trot.
Everytime you get called out on a **** opinion on a player you use this as your excuse. Just be a man and admit you were wrong.Chill bro it was very obvious bait

Going back to the 1980s even when it was rarely a New Years Test the Sydney Tests were impacted by weather. So with a lot of people questioning whether the rain should mean the SCG should lose the New Years Test, I went through the last 30 or so years and looked at how the SCG fared weather wise in the New Years Test:
https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...th-africa-3rd-test-1317494/live-cricket-score - Likely to lose a lot of play, and might make it near impossible to get a result

https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...vs-south-africa-2nd-test-63629/full-scorecard - Hard to tell - but seems parts of Day 2 were rain-affected?
https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...-vs-west-indies-3rd-test-63592/full-scorecard - Draw, lost 42 overs (no idea if that was because of rain or over-rates and the flatness of the pitch not allowing for a result, though)
https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...tralia-vs-india-3rd-test-63565/full-scorecard - Draw, apparently lost 94.1 overs on Days 3 and 4 due to rain
https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...alia-vs-england-3rd-test-63545/full-scorecard - No notable rain (but was still a draw)
Seems to be very patternable, but the problem has gotten much worse in recent years. Before about 2015 you did get a number of rain interruptions but generally not significantly worse than anywhere else that didn't have an obvious seasonal rain pattern and usually you could still get a result. Since then, you've had two de facto washouts, one Test where rain made it difficult to get a result and 2-3 other Tests where a number of overs were lost because of rain.
I'll try compare it to oth1992ers at a later point, but certainly in the last decade it's to
ugh to think of many other places that have a worse rain record.
I don't mind ignoring you usually but you do exhibit Rose Harper behaviour with the constant potshots and salty interjections. Jog on.You got me, I’m always trying to start feuds on here.
This is actually spot on the money. Usman has been a revelation since slotting into the ashes series last year, and as someone up thread said it'sUsman Khawaja is the best opener in World cricket at the moment.
