Article out in the last day or 2 (too hard to link on phone) but are plans/thoughts about having an I-P test at the MCG in Oz.
That would be awesome , could even be a match up rotated by venue ...Lords would be a sellout hell even having an Ind-Pak test match in Durban would be a sellout ...Durban is the most populated city in the World of people with Indian origin backgrounds outside of India itself , and there's a lot of Pakistani's that live in the City too, Kingsmead is a spin friendly pitch so both would be at home .

Are people suddenly forgetting here what just preceded the finals? How the heck was BCCI going to do anything about WTC when it was peak Covid in India, FFS the IPL had to be cancelled/postponed midway. In fact had the pandemic not been brought slightly under control (in India) there wouldn't have been a final in the first place!
Yeah no looks like you have no idea what you're talking about

The WTC was a farce anyway because the conditions heavily favored one side, not just their prep but also that they didn't even play a spinner! Neutral venue my **** ?
Thats so true. Totally forgot about it. People were falling like flies. There were soooo many deaths.

My point of contention was that India couldn't have scheduled any meaningful practice games just before the WTC, for reasons already discussed here. As for the final itself, regardless of the conditions, the better team won. We should've been able to draw that test on the last day! But as usual Brat choked & the rest is history ?‍♂

As far as overseas performance is concerned India’s 2007-11 team is better than Kohli’s Team

2007 Eng won
2007 Aus should have drawn against a much stronger side if not for Buckenor
2009 NZ won
2010 SA Drew against a very strong side
2011 WI Won despite missing 4 players

We actually underperformed in Kohli’s tenure . Should have atleast drawn in both ENG+ SA.
Kohlis guys had to face better england and nz sides than what dravid and dhonis sides faced.

And let's be honest . Had it not been for rain india would only have drawn 1-1 on england in 2007.

NZ yes. Not England. The team that beat us 4-1 in 2018 was incredibly mediocre and 2022 team until the weird one off 5th test was poor too.
I don't think the 2018 England side was weaker than what india faced in 2007.

The 2018 series was played in very seam friendly conditions and india had to contend with Anderson broad and woakes.
England's bowling was extremely inexperienced in 2007 and even though their batting look good on paper the likes of cook, pietersen, Bell and prior were still yet to hit their peak as players.

90s Pakistan were pretty good away from home
They were good at beating mediocre sides like England, nz in the 1990s.
But against their three strongest opponents Australia, south Africa and West indies they were rubbish.
They lost all three series in Australia in the 1990s , were well beaten in the Caribbean in 1993 and were thumped by South Africa in 1995. The sole saving grace is a 1-1 draw in south africa in 1998 but even that would have probably ended in defeat had rain not ruined the first test.

Thought that would be San Fran or something
