Aaron Hardie probably the best choice. no way they bat agar at 6/7, he's not good enough with the bat.

Hardie's the only choice I can think of, though he's been poor with bat and ball in the Shield (26 bat, 44 bowl).

Agar is not got enough in either discipline and shouldn't be anywhere near anything but the T20I side. And Sydney hasn't spun for fifteen years.

Yep i edited to reflect, Aaron hardie. Good stats overall, batting ave of 45 in shield is fine. at age of 23, same age as green, and both very tall, Hardie is 193cm, a like for like swap.

Both green and starc, will take several weeks to recover from finger injuries. those are long recovery times.

This test will slowly meander to a draw, as australia have only 2 pace bowlers left, on an absolute road of a pitch.

Mate back the draw @20/1 if you think it's meandering that way...money for old rope right?

Murphy won’t play unless Lyon gets hurt. No way they pick two offies.

A lot will depend on whether they sew up the series here. If they do they might go in a batsman light and Carey will bat six and Agar seven.

yeah they should trial him in test cricket in place of the injured starc. trialling jhye worked really well. morris is like jhye and audiences go gaga over jhye.

Starc confirmed injury and i believe he is out for sydney- almost no recovery time

Neser/Haze arent like for like selections. Haze bowls around 138-140 range, neser around 130kph.

Also haze should take the place of Boland for SCG, being NSW- he is more familiar with the track, i think boland should only play on green tops or swinging conditions, not the best on flat decks.

Considering Boland doesn't really swing it, why would you play him in swinging conditions?

I hate the idea in your second paragraph, which certainly increases the chances they'll do it.

Sydney hasn't spun for years and pace over spin is the better option unless it looks like a 2000-era pitch. Agar is a poor bowler.

I'd go for someone who can bat. Seen the idea floated of Neser batting higher, but IMO he's not good enough. Don't need to be making the same mistake as the opposition.

Neser and Morris imho. for ashes squad at least. then they will pick based on the deck. Boland is seamer i agree. Haze is injury prone is an issue. Will Jhye be available for selection @ ashes, he would be a handful if he's ever fit..
