Also in 2014 BG trophy (Adelaide Test) and 2018 BG Trophy (Perth Test) he was the match winner .He is a very good spinner.

5 spinners played in that series including Lyon and Lyon was the 5th best spinner in that series.
No, he wasn’t. He was at par with Ashwin in that series . Jadeja was the best spinner in that series and Okeffe was the 4th best .
If Lyon had a bowling partner in Jadeja , Aus would have won that series.

Yeah if he had a doosra he'd be very very hard to play.

For a very orthodox offie in an era where most spinners have one which goes the other way, he's done pretty well.

I find Lyon to be quite one dimensional. In a stronger era he would be getting hammered.
Nope.

He's easily the best Aussie spinner behind Warne of the last 30 years in Australia and that includes Macgill.

He puts far more work on the ball than Colin Miller who took 70 test wickets @ 26 with an ER of 2.90. Who clearly never got hammered in an extremely strong shield era.

The likes of Hauritz and Krezja? Forget it.

Lyon's biggest weapon is overspin thats especially effective on Aussie pitches and he's one of the best proponents of it ever. Almost all visiting spinners dont get anywhere the same amount of overspin on the ball, so aren't anywhere near as effective on the same pitches.

My opinion - I have MacGill ahead of Lyon.
