He was the best player in this tourney, even better than Messi for mine. And quietly I think he's probably been that since after the 2018 World Cup as well, but the latter is kind of my own personal hot take.

They're not like this fam. Soccer basically peaked with that final, and us hardcore fans and even rec players are all quietly planning on packing it in now because there's no point in trying to top this.

For the most part the Final was awful. A great ending covered up a turgid first 80 minutes during which France had no attempts on goal. It was so bad some casual fans even went to bed.
