*Official* Australia vs West Indies - Frank Worrell Trophy 2022

International Coach
The last time we played there we won, and it was about as green of a wicket as I've ever seen in this country.
oh yea i forgot we played there in the ashes but my point still stands that it's been green in recent history

i think that copes is a good analyst but i hate where they just take two stills of random balls and say look how much he's changed

May as well have gotten Lara down from the commentary box.
They might need to if someone else gets injured.

Philiips does still play a bit of club cricket in Melbourne but it's not really any more ridiculous than Lara going out there - at least Lara used to be a good fielder.

The West Indies have called upon a former batter whose last played in a Test match 13 years ago as an emergency fielder for their second match starting in Adelaide today.

Omar Phillips has spent the past five years playing suburban cricket in Melbourne, and has been thrown on an SOS flight to South Australia today amid the injury crisis in his former team’s bowling stocks.

So good. Really sums it up.

Marnus a genuine chance here of being joint second fastest to 3000 runs.
Will be second on matches, joint second on innings.

Australia reach 300. No surprise as the last time they failed to reach 300 in a 1st innings home Test v the West Indies was in Perth 1997.

Last time they failed to reach 350 in their home 1st innings against the Windies was the Boxing Day 00/01 Test.

Man I'd never wish a concussion on anyone but imagine if one of the WI top order bats copped one in the head and Phillps got to bat.

Averaging 23 in park cricket this season. Due for a ton though.

It'd be the best random late appearance since Pomersbach getting called up out of the crowd to play a T20I because Brad Hodge got injured putting on his pants.

Wait, what?

But much of the drama of the night happened before the toss of the coin, with Hodge damaging his back while pulling on his kit, ruling him out and prompting a call-up from the car park for the West Australian youngster.

The fact Pomersbach is still suspended from the state team for a late night drinking session last month added to the uniqueness of his debut, which turned from a night watching Australia to playing for them.

seriously though Omar was the best looking batsman I saw in the VTCA premier.

Half a step up from Andrew Mathieson's ODI call up.

Turns out there's a different from the Devon Premier League to Jonny Bairstow

Did Braithwaite and Thomas have to bowl though? There were still four other options. Genuine question, I haven't been able to watch a ball.
