Might point out they Holder last session spent too much time bowling too short and/or wide to get an edge, again. Like he did when he was 'bowling well' at Perth.
Unfortunately it's impossible to drop people who've played a lot of tests in Australian cricket these days. They always have to go out on their own terms, even if they're a waste of space. There seems to be little recognition of the fact five years' ago's stats do not predict tomorrow's performance.Warners averaging 28 in tests since his monster summer vs Pak and NZ a few years back, and even at his best he wasn't someone I would back to make runs vs IND or ENG away.
Given the future schedule, what point do we start talking about dropping him? Not like we don't have people to replace him with. Don't think a situation where him and Usman call it quits at the same time and we need to find two new openers would work out very well either.
Who's next in line? Still Pukovski? Assuming he hasn't gotten his leg amputated or something.Unfortunately it's impossible to drop people who've played a lot of tests in Australian cricket these days. Haha no he's done. No way he's getting back. Concussed every second innings and about every 6 months he needs a break for mental health reasonsWho's next in line? Still Pukovski? Assuming he hasn't gotten his leg amputated or something.
Don't think he's ever scored a ton in England or India; outside Bangladesh he hasn't scored an away ton since 2014.Warners averaging 28 in tests since his monster summer vs Pak and NZ a few years back, and even at his best he wasn't someone I would back to make runs vs IND or ENG away.

Any of Renshaw, Hunt, and Harris (who I desperately don't want, but he's got a lot of Shield runs). Even Bancroft is a chance, five centuries in nine Shield innings this year. But he won't be dropped unless he has a catastrophic SA series, and maybe not even then (hence my earlier post).Who's next in line? Still Pukovski? Pucovski can't string 2 games together. Right now the heirarchy is something like Harris=/>Renshaw>Hunt>Ward/Whiteman it seems.Who's next in line? Still Pukovski? Assuming he hasn't gotten his leg amputated or something.
Wasn't the captaincy stuff more white ball focused?Don't think he's ever scored a ton in England or India; outside Bangladesh he hasn't scored an away ton since 2014.
Under normal circumstances there would be severe doubt about him playing in England/India next year but it's hardly been brought up. Instead it's all about whether he should be made a captaincy candidate again.
Had bad form in club cricket this year and Renshaw's decision to move back up to open bumped him out of his spot (Burns is ahead of him in the pecking order). Amazingly Jack Clayton was still getting games ahead of him though when he looked totally out of his depth. What happened to Street?
Poor ****er's had 4 concussions since Kohli's last test hundredHaha no he's done. No way he's getting back. Concussed every second innings and about every 6 months he needs a break for mental health reasons
