England test tour of Pakistan December 2022

Yeah. That's a huge point. Pakistan can never get a more favorable wtc draw in future. Sena sides at home and SC sides away is as best as you can get.
What is Ramiz playing at wanting these pitches? Attendance on all five days? Anyone with three functioning neutrons can see Pakistan's bowling is weak and this is playing right into the hands of the opposition.

It's as friendly a pitch at the current time as has ever been, but it's amazing they can't even keep them below seven an over. I proposed in a thread a few months ago that properly negative bowling like consistently going well wide of the stumps to an appropriate field was a lost art.

Did you hear David Gower speculating whether current-day Nasser Hussain could've made a ton on it today? I don't think he was joking - it was an interesting question.
On TMS at lunch they were suggesting BMac was (semi-seriously) looking at a potential recall for Tres and/or Collingwood what with the squits doing the rounds in the camp, so we might've got to see if things had gone really bad...

Azhar and Babar look much better bowlers than Shakeel to me, but I guess they already have a specialist leggie and offie playing and wanted some left arm darts for variety.

They lived to regret that though....

Yeah I read yesterday that Collingwood was genuinely preparing to play if this stomach bug ended up too bad.

Rob Key probably would've been third in line after Colly and Tres, but it starts to get particularly silly by that point.

Disappointingly, looks like Brook is easily going to beat Jessop here. Hate seeing record from so long ago fall.

Hate to be the sand in the vaseline, but this really isn't test cricket, is it?

C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas la guerre: c'est de la folie and all that.

Honestly this makes me kinda sad it didn't happen, loathe as I am to wish the squits on someone.

The discussions on future cricket forums c. 2080 would have been great. 'Marcus Trescothick is underrated for his longevity. He played test cricket for for 22 years'

Whatever it takes!!!
Unless something drastic happens they'll pass the record for most runs in on the first day of a test. They've got 25 overs to score 84 runs and are motoring along at seven and a half. It's 494, Australia vs Sputh Africa 1910 (in only 99 overs too)

The overall record is a bit further - 588 by England vs India in 1936. That said, India somehow bowled about 140 overs in the day.
Were they 8 ball overs too?
