Anyways, I am going to call it in favor of Pollock over Kapil 8-6. No votes for Klusener surprisingly.

So the final XI is:

1. Lara
2. Tendulkar
3. Viv
4. Kohli
5. ABD
6. Dhoni
7. Pollock
8. Akram
9. Garner
10. McGrath
11. Murali

Observations:
- Without doubt the strongest top six in terms of pure batsmanship
- Without doubt the strongest and most miserly bowling lineup of 5 worldclass top tier bowlers
- Only one Australian!
- A team favoring specialists overs part-timers and top order strength over low order hitting

I think this is exactly what I voted for. Not often I'm the normie option here.

Yeah, the thing that makes this lineup really special is the bowling which is relentless. Can you imagine Akram and McGrath with the new ball followed by Garner, Pollock and Murali? Will hardly be able to scrap a run.

Questions now:

- Who will captain?
- Who takes the new ball?
- Possible 12th man?
Dhoni captain.

McGrath and Wasim new ball.

12th man - hmm. I'm gonna say Jayasuriya if we're just picking it in case someone gets injured on the morning of the game - the side is already bowler-heavy and pace-heavy and there's a middle-order bat opening, so he'd probably be able to plug the most amount of holes to a reasonable standard. I thought about Shakib instead because he could play as a batsman, a bowler or an allrounder, but the existing balance and the fact that he can't really open put me off. I thought about Watto but if Murali was injured that'd leave the team with no spinners.

If it's someone we're going to tactically play sometimes I reckon it should probably be Warne though - if it's gonna rag or be a really slow deck you leave out a fast bowler for him.

Swap Watson and Gilchrist IMO. Watto did have some success down the order, Gilly almost exclusively opened.

I'd probably get Starc in there too.
Great suggestions and agreed. Starc also provides variety.

Jayasuriya
Gilchrist
Ponting
Zaheer Abbas
Bevan
Watson
Klusenar
Kapil Dev
Hadlee
Starc
Warne

The team has 7 solid bowling options plus Bevan and also bats up to 11. Hitting power throughout while the middle order can also consolidate the innings quite well. I am sure this team can give the first team a run for its money.

Adorable Asshole

International Regular
2nd XI looks really weak in comparison to 1st.
Not really 1st XI only has batting till 6

Starc = Akram Warne = Murali
Hadlee > Mcgrath
Garner > Dev
Pollock > Klusener

Their bowling is slightly better but we have more options.

I expect Hadlee to run through the top order and Starc, Warne and Kapil to destroy middle and tail.

what is Watson randomly doing there at 6 when Symonds isn’t even in the lineup
