How Lucky are England in ICC tournaments ?

Final : Batted 1st lost

2017 CT
SF : Batted 1st lost

2019 ODI WC
SF : Batted 2nd won
Final : Batted 2nd Tied

2021 WT20
SF: Batted 1st lost

2022
SF : Batted 2nd won
Final: Batted 2nd won

So all the knockouts they have won is by batting 2nd . Whenever they have batted 1st they have lost.
So are they the champion team or a very good team that wins important toss ?

I will always said it do away with a coin toss in cricket and get more skill involved to earn the right to bat or bowl first. Maybe even a bowl out to decide who wins right.

The toss wasn't that much of a factor in any of those except maybe India Vs England. NZ bowled and fielded atrociously and Pakistan decided to pick out one fielder on the biggest ****ing ground on the planet over and over again.

2011 WC : IND both successfully defended and chased in knockouts

2013 CT : IND both chased and defended in knockouts

2015 WC : AUS both chased and defended in knockouts

2017 CT : PAK both chased and defended
I would like my tournament champions to show both defending and chasing skills in knockouts. It shouldn’t be based on toss skills in a close contest.

Do you feel that team’s batting 1st in knockouts are under immense pressure to score atleast 190 and this results in them being extremely nervous in batting in 1st 10 overs to conserve wickets ?
In last 4 knockouts match in WT20 , teams batting 1st have lost . Do you believe toss is an important factor?

You're right, it is England's fault that in the 2019 world cup we lost the toss in both knockout games and therefore couldn't have chosen to do anything different.

It was mistake by opposing captains. Never bat 1st against England in knockouts.
