I admit when I watch T20 my first instinct is to look at any given player and immediately try to work out if they could make it as in tests. It’s not the best way to look at it, but it’s my default setting.

Some blokes like Buttler I am genuinely surprised have been so ordinary in tests. He’s like a 21sr century Bevan in that regard. Others sort of don’t look anything like they’d make it at all.
