They lost to Ireland, and really struggled against Afghanistan and SL. If Neesham had middled some, or if the rain had stayed away vs Australia they probably wouldn't have made the semis.
Both England and Pakistan started their tournaments slow but quality eventually wins out. That's why both teams were pre tournament favourites to top their group and win the whole thing.

England didn't really struggle vs Afghanistan, but yea the wobbles vs Sri Lanka and Ireland is what would have given India hope here. England are softer through the middle, but we were too reliant on new-ball swing to dislodge the openers. That wasn't available, we bowled poorly and we've been wrecked. Middle order is irrelevant.

Much like NZ vs Pak actually. Same dynamic. NZ too reliant on new ball h00p and it didn't happen for them.

I think we are witnessing history from Hales. This has to be England's greatest knock in a T20 World Cup from Hales ... Absolutely faultless , no answer ...Indian fans can't even imagine getting to the Final at the halfway stage ...That's how brutal it's been ...There's no room to even be disappointed cause the batting has been so good . Total Domination!
While this might exaggerate a little, it's impressive that at the start of the innings Buttler was 17 while Hales was on just 2, and yet Buttler has ended up overshadowed.

Well one team didn't **** themselves in front of a global audience of 1.5 billion I suppose.
