Geez, Otago was one of the best bowling sides in the first two rounds but got absolutely smoked by Canterbury. McConchie making up for a couple of mediocre seasons with the bat.

Shipley also making a good return to fitness with the bat, though poor with the ball.

Had a bit of downtime in Christchurch this afternoon, so decided to stop by at Hagley - been wanting to watch cricket here for ages and had never managed it. Good to tick it off the list. :)

Arrived just in time for Otago's second innings. Sheat is bowling from my end and has been pretty impressive in his first few overs.

200 up for Schmulian. I guess this is what happens bowling on a dry pitch (without J Walker?) against a team whose engine room begins at 3.

Jakob Bhula career average watch, down to 10.28. Farcical run out in the first innings and a golden duck in the second. Poor guy can't take a trick at the moment
That 2nd innings dismissal is awful to watch as well. Hard to believe he's ahead of Vishvaka, Greenwood or even some random club batsman at the moment.

Very tasty second innings wickets by O'Rourke. Nice.
It doesn't look like he's bowling with a great deal of pace at the moment, and only with a little inward movement. But with that action I think he *should* be able to develop into a consistently quick bowler with natural inswing (which he had before action remodel and has not completely reclaimed). Best case 140k with sharp inswing - I do think O'Rourke has a high 'ceiling'.

Thought it looked the quickest I've seen him bowl, actually. With the front-on camera disclaimer though of course.
