Group 1 (Afghanistan, Australia, England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Ireland)

I feel there should be Quarter finals tbh ...There are teams that are going to be knocked out that could easily win this tournament ..
Having Quarterfinals :

1. Reduces the impact washed out games have on overall standings.

2. Avoid ridiculous scenarios like the one we saw in the previous WC , where SA won 4 out of their 5 games and still got knocked out.

3.If ICC does not want to play the last round of matches at the same time , then having more teams qualify for the knockout phase makes sense cause the current way can see results be manipulated due to the teams in the last match knowing what they need to do to qualify.

4.Less dead rubbers , suppose Pak lost to SA ...Their match vs Bangladesh means absolutely nothing . Who wants that ?

5. With better scheduling of the games , you need only to extend the tournament by two or three days plus more money in TV rights .

8 is too like... Makes the whole group stage dumb. 5 round robin games to only eliminate a third of the field? I agree 4 is too tight though

I like top 6

Group winners advance to semis, 2 vs 3 from each group with the winners vsing the group winners

Would be silly with 2 pools of 6 though. They'd need 4 pools of 4 with top two going through, but then it would look even dodgier when Pakistan and India were in the same pool.

Good for Melbourne resident M.Nabi to showcase his talents on the big stage. This youngster has a big future in the game no doubt

Why would you bother betting with illegal bookies when you can get on legally?
Yeah I can't think of too many advantages for the punter with an unregulated illegal one. Be way easier for them to completely make you jump through hoops to withdraw cash as well because you can't whine to anyone

Gilly praising Maxwell's "leg work" was quite amusing. Fully expecting G.Maxwell to don a pair of 2 inch Asics split shorts for the Semis
