tjb's right and you're right that by and large blaming selection is often misguided when your guys on the park just aren't executing or are bad but are still the best going around your country
but just for context the greater discussion came from me asking with a guy like cummins who's always in "test mode" and doesn't do any t20 cricket, you'd have to wonder if even though cummins is clearly a better bowler a t20 specialist guy who's more familiar with a lot of the batsmen he'd bowl to and with the t20 meta is a smarter pick. similar argument that people used for smith really

i just can't get behind this though like it's literally against the rules
it's not as if, if you are trying to steal ground you're the same as a bottlecap user or something, it's just if you're out of your crease early you've no right to get pissy if someone runs you out right? simple as. really needs no more ink spilled than that imo
