I'd guess he means Ashwin.
He's got 5 test 100s in 86 tests. Hadlee got 2 in 86. I almost included Vernon Philander (highest score of 74), but then decided against it as would probably need to then include Streak, Vaas, Nash, Bresnan, Swann, Johnson, etc. who were basically useful tailenders. Will be interesting to see if Marco Jansen or Kyle Jamieson develop into allrounders.

Also decided against the likes of Azhar Mahmoud, Klusener, Razzaq, Dwayne Bravo, etc as the list would get too long.

Went Flintoff, Al Hasan, Stokes, Jadeja.

Sort of thought of Pollock more as a bowler who batted a bit because he usually came in so low rather than a genuine A/R. Probably doing him a disservice.

Pollock tended to come in so low because South Africa had so many other bowlers who could also bat. If he hadn't played so much with the likes of McMillan, Klusener, Boje, and Symcox then he probably would have batted higher more often.

Yeah I'm sure that's right, it just sort of led me rate his batting more Hadlee than Botham or Kapil, when his numbers are better than that, on reflection.

There's a case for him for sure, but it looks from the poll like CW doesn't rate him as an all rounder. If the question was 'pick the 5 best players' then I'm sure he'd have a lot more votes.

Pollock smashing the vote despite being the same sort of tier of batting though is a bit inconsistent.

Ashwin definitely deserves more respect too. Can't be far off Pollock. He's less consistent but has incredible centuries under his belt.

I actually didn't vote for Pollock at first and had Jadeja instead but it felt too harsh on Pollock as a player. Jadeja and is definitely a more rounded all rounder.

Is a decent #8 less of an rounder than someone who takes 1.5 wickets per match? ?

Little surprised considering your recent Shakib bashing.
