Finch is averaging 28~ @ a sr of 135 since the start of the Sri Lanka game, and he's spent a good chunk of that time batting at 3/4 rather than opening. Dire knock today but he's performing fine.

That's one of the worst innings I've seen
Yep, Charles with the definition of a match losing innings there. Didn't even try to run singles, ate up loads of dot balls. Warner getting 40 runs extra of the same number of balls was basically the losing margin.

I have no idea why he is playing instead of Evin Lewis, unless they were experimenting.

Some definite inexperience in Australian conditions showed today. We went straight to variations where's the Aussies mostly stuck to back of a length and made it hard.

Can you shed some light on how this guy was playing international cricket? He was very lucky to make as much as he did in the end with a couple of edged boundaries in that 29 (30) and looked lucky to get bat on ball when he did. Add that to not bothering to run between the wickets at more than half pace and it's an innings that you just don't see in the professional era

Basically we needed a back up opener/keeper in the squad. The two best candidates in CPL for that role were Charles and Andre Fletcher because they can both bully bad bowling. Charles did slightly better. Neither are up to this standard though.

I think Charles should only play if Pooran has a knock on his fingers and can't keep.

The final team should be something like:

Mayers
King
Lewis
Pooran (wk)
Powell
Holder
Smith
Hossein
Joseph
Cariah
McCoy

Which isn't an amazing side but can definitely win a few matches.

Would be good if England and their supporters could be kept in perth for the whole WC.

Actually looking forward to this. England has been Australia's bogey team in LO cricket of late
