I'm a big Rizwan fan but he got 4 off 12. It was too cold to swing
He was 6 50s in his last 9 matches and won us the last match. I was thinking about either or both openers usually giving us a decent platform. I thought the first over at least swung a lot.

I see. He was brilliant vs England and Bangladesh as was Babar tonight.

I don't think it was swinging bcos Boult got the slip moved out (or moved really wide) very early, but I could be wrong.

Always been a fan of moving Shadab up the order. He’s a busy player and scores all around the ground. Not as convinced with Nawaz batting up the order. Can do a job in certain situations but as we saw against quality fast bowlers Southee and Boult today didn’t have much of a clue.

Bar Rizwan and Azam it's arguable he is their 3rd best batsman in this format. He should always bat top 4, he is far from a crude slogger, bats positively and if he fails it is what it is.

Will sanity ever prevail where our top order in T20s is....?

Allen
Guptill
Conway+
Phillips
Chapman
Neesham

When will they learn you can't have both Conway and KW both in the top 4 in T20s.... probably never.

Can we get that South African who dominated NZ domestic cricket in the mid-2010s back into the top order at all? Averages 33 after 32 games of BBL. Probably shouldn't be scoffed at by a T20 team like NZ's tbh.

I'm afraid that other braai guy is just another inhibited and awkward NZ cricket douche, at this point. The money is made and a lot of the 'prove those bastards wrong' fuel could be gone. Possibly even homesick.

I still consider Munro one of our top 5-6 T20 bats, but that ship well and truly sailed away along with his omission from the WC squad last year.

I'll be pissed if they rotate Allen today after he was one of the few to show any intent yesterday.

There was never any rhyme or reason behind dropping Munro or indeed behind his treatment by the selectors generally
Wasn't it that he wanted to prioritize playing bbl over the home season domestic + international games? In any case he's our most gun t20 batter of all time

Too much of an impertinent and boorish boer for that very tepid and dull Stead, Larsen, Williamson, Latham mix.

It's a pity cricket remains a school teacher's sport in New Zealand, rather than an entrepreneurial sport. Particularly so now, seeing all the money just comes from Indian TV and you don't have to please the local punters. You'll often find the 'what school did you go to?' Christchurch brigade have got their hands back on the helm and are steering the boat in the dullest and most risk-averse of directions.

Even when their pet cricketers are really useless for the white ball objectives at hand, you'll see them getting a bit of attention from the selectors. Like Ollie White for NZ U19, or Cole McConchie or recently Chad Bowes.

A damn shame if true. We're already, and have been for a while... so defensive, boring and dull under this group. Borderline cowardly even. A bunch of big personalities shouldn't hurt...as long as they produce results.

Adam milne in. I really hope this guy can actually, finally become the centre of attention for once, and frikkin take wickets when he isn't laying on a rehab mat.
