Rusty becoming a decent #4 is funny. Going a good rate here, but losing wickets at regular intervals. Branning the key to push 210 up to 250+.

Coetzee's poor touch for TMOs is actually causing considerable team and squad problems... never had a player drop to a touch of 4 before (at least not an important one that I remember!) and this after he was sitting at 15 for most of last season. He had a huge contract increase, highest paid in squad now... wonder if it went to his head!

Line-ups for todays critical battle between CW members! Morpork win the toss and elect to bowl. Moderately fast pitch some wear but nothing to extreme... heavy overcast conditions could make it a medium pacers paradise though...

Both of my teams have applied.

@Charlie B I have taken your advice regarding ground size and put it into action.
Well done mate for taking the plunge - im certain it will make sense (not least as you are on the up and supporter numbers also increasing) .

It is not ''bad business' if you dont max out your new ground size - i cannot remember i did the 'math'somewhere but the BEP of a ground increase after you remove the fixed cost (which is capital) is to cover your additional variable cost - ie the weekly cleaning charge of your additional seats - which was about 25% of the potential increase in average weekly revenues from 'selling out' the new ground.

In a nutshell if you go from 8k to 10k then even if your new attendances are 8.5k you wont be losing out and quickly increasing supporter numbers will 'fill the gap' if you have overshot

How did you decide on your new groud size - i normally have a nose at the teams around me in the WR and find those with similar member numbers and see what ground size they have and then check their ground stats to see if it looks about right

I haven't thought about much of this.

I simply added a few seats. I had the money to undertake that project.

What were people's thoughts on Tonks closing the thread?

He did it (clearly enough) because there were direct criticisms of the DEV's and he didn't want it to turn into a snowball on the ''elephant in the living room'' that underpins everything that is (not) going on.

However, they certainly were not rude (as in requiring 'moderation)- and unpalatable as it might be - they are correct. There is no DEV and maintenance is not much visible either - so it is going to generate those kind of comments as ''all roads lead to Rome'.

I understand why it therefore got closed but you are really just closing down reasonable comment on a forum. This leaves people with nowhere to go except leave. Which is a shame because they are hardly some nihilistic force. - Ultimate of that process is that we will be left with a rump of people either to scared to say anything and/or put up with everything in terms of no activity from management without a whimper.

Aside from that, convention is you close a thread when the issue is resolved, but this issue has not been resolved, we have not even had a squeak of what action has or is taking place - so to me it was the wrong call.

I don't have any gripe with Tonks btw (and a MOD is a thankless but necessary role) - but with the current empty thrones' he is stuck between a rock and a hard place - you cannot really defend DEVs that don't DEV

Entries close in a couple of days, still need the following people to join Groups

Group A: Moo (@SillyCowCorner1), Honest Hunks (@honestbharani)
Group B: GG CC (@SillyCowCorner1), Plymouth Pirates (@Jarquis)
Group C: Dynamo Schmaltzberg (@Magrat Garlick)
Group D: Dynamo Morpork (@Magrat Garlick)

I will be very pre-occupied later (Friday) but will respond to any entries late Friday/Saturday. Entries close Sunday but given it says 2 days left and its still 11:45pm game time - I presume that means very first thing Sunday
@Magrat Garlick - Dynamo Morpork only side left to enter I believe.

Have to say, we did so well in that chase. The wicket got better for batting in the second innings.
Well done, yeah excellent effort. IIRC last 10 overs of the 1st innings we scored <30 runs without boundary -- which is some effort to pull off vs a set Branning. Top side, GG.

It's injury season: three @Jarquis players are off the park -- though Kamal Azam's broken ribs didn't preclude him from compiling 143 in a stupendous (friendly) 272-run opening partnership with Zosongo, the stonewaller having somehow survived Attack-ing almost half of his deliveries and only just now offering up a couple of chances -- and AX-W's John Ward has recorded a blow in an unfortunate region.

I'm surprised that Michael Winton hasn't been injured, batting top-order and bowling 14 to 24 overs a week. Reached as low as 39% condition -- I will be more wary in the future with him.

AXI have sent out a couple of Dev friendly requests to try to sort out a decent set of orders before CWC6 starts.

Deadline to join has closed but seems like game still allows you to join - at least the option to join isn't greyed out
