Smith played the perfect innings here, any other opinion is pure ignorance

I know he scored that slowly because of the low target and it being more important that he stayed in than scored quickly, but even so Smith not making it to 50 having come in with more than 150 runs to get is a bit eye-popping.
Definitely eye-popping, but with the middle order Aus played, and the target they were chasing, this was exactly the right approach

Yet to be convinced that Smith is really suited to limited overs cricket. As for Warner - his actions were poor, but what we come to expect from him.

the comeback was probably never really on given the batting depth we have but the zimzam have to be really pleased with their efforts today

didn't acquit themselves terribly whatsoever!

Smith averages 54.6 at a sr of 90 with 10 100's in 69 matches at 3. Smith isn't suited to being shuffled around the order, not LOI in general. Similiar story in T20I.

i was always partial to the idea that smith's LOI results seemed sort of off so this is a good explainer!

@Prince EWS thinks if Wes doesn’t become a 40+ avg bat Zim will drop out of test cricket. I’m not so sure it is that dire but he certainly has the ability to do it.
Yeah he is the second coming, or at least has to be. CSA tried very hard to get him to just not go back home when he was going through school there.

He's always prioritsed his batting, but I tell you what - if he wanted to be a specialist offie I reckon he has the skill to pull that off too.

Smith being juggled around the order never made sense to me in LOIs. He’s capable of being as good as the best if he actually is kept at three

I'm in on this. I've watched him form his debut and he looks like he has all the skills to be a serious cricketer. A shame about his Test record so far though!

Bit disappointing, Marsh has had insane form lately and was bowling really well on Sunday too. Agar will be an important cog in the ODI unit for the coming year though so good to get him in there
