Yeah haha finishing 4th after a 92-point season and a CL final would be an implosion, they'd need basically everything to go wrong.

I'm guessing anil must be a Liverpool fan. You usually need to support a team to misjudge them that badly.
Things are going pretty bad early into the season.

Second week into the season and Liverpool had to turn to their fifth choice center back. Jota and firmino have also been injured coming into the season.

While Diaz and Nunez are good they need time to establish a rapport with Salah up top.

The less I talk about the midfield the better. Fabinho seems to be the only fit midfielder while everyone around him are taking turns on the injured list.

Relying on 30+ injured midfielders or two youngsters in Elliott and Jones doesn't paint a good picture for a team that is expected to challenge for the title.

Right but TAA, Van Dijk, Allisson and Salah are the undisputed best players in the world at their positions and Fabinho and Robertson are close. They're all fit too.

Competing with City is tough, they set a high bar. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Spurs do not have 6/11 starters who could claim to be the best in the world at what they do. Finishing below two of them would be a disaster.

Van Dijk and Salah are the best in their respective positions. Agreed.

TAA has been the worst Liverpool player on the pitch in the first two games of the season. For Liverpool to be title contenders both TAA and Robertson have to be at their absolute best once again because the midfield is going to suck. Liverpool midfielders have hardly scored enough goals and that is likely to continue this season.

Nope.

A spectacularly over-rated player.

Weird how Man Utd are performing better without a preening, look at me, self centred arsehole up front.
Not just that mine. They’ve been excellent all round tonight.

I’ve not seen either of their games thus far. They clearly still have some limitations but it’s been a real performance.

There you go. This team looks so out of sorts. Klopp's sides have the history of being knackered after a pretty good 4 year cycle. And this team sure looks physically stretched and clueless in midfield.

I particularly enjoyed Liverpool fans collectively imagining a rule where you have to give the other team the ball for your own kick off and complaining about Bruno not getting sent off. I’d worried that Klopp had robbed the world of that kind of hilarious meltdown when he made Liverpool good.

Trent could have been sent off in the first 20 minutes, and those were for actual fouls not holding onto a ball.

Bruno does annoy me though with his diving and clutching his face like he's been smacked.

A strong ref books Fernandes for time wasting.

Got plenty of players out so hopefully when they come back they will sort it.

I think Liverpool will be fine when it comes to top 4 but maybe it might come down to the last few games.

City obviously win the league, Arsenal 2nd and then Liverpool sneaking third place ahead of Chelsea/Spurs.

Not sure what the point of Maguire will be once Lindelof is back as he the worst of the 4 Centre half options United have.
