He at least has a very good FC record, albeit with a flat home pitch. Crawley is barely FC standard.

Yeah, it's hard to be in the right place mentally when both line-ups can play 8 or 9 batsmen and the sub them out for bowlers... It certainly favours being able to just smoosh the ball and if you do go out the next guy will carry on...

Ehh, averaging low 30's in the bowling era he debuted is passable. "Big disappointment" is a bit harsh.
And the big difference between SA and NZ is that once you tired out the kiwi bowlers their spinners were hit-me merchants. Maharaj is a superb bowler and there will be let up at all this series for the England batters.
