As own goals go, Vardy bring this libel case this is a 40 yard overhead screamer into the top corner. Couple of million quid to be branded a liar in the high court? Yeesh.

I've got something worse than that.

In Scotland we have the League Challenge Cup - it's roughly equivalent to the EFL Trophy in that it used to be contested by clubs in the 3 tiers below the Premiership, but in recent years we've extended the tournament to include clubs from the LOI, Irish League, Welsh League and National League in England. Premiership clubs in Scotland are also allowed to enter Colt teams (U21 teams.)

Sligo Rovers took part 3 or 4 years ago and were knocked out by Motherwell Colts. So they've lost 3-0 to an Irish team that their own youth team knocked out of a cup competition a few years ago.

Ho-hum, would have taken a draw at the start of the day, but after taking the lead, and more importantly our only real striker looking injured, and our best defender nowhere near the squad, going to mark this one about a 5/10, certainly not disaster, but with worries ahead.

We needed to bring a centre forward in before anyway, now we're desperate too, which might mean we just panic to bring in a body rather than anyone good.
