Super happy we just about got over the line but this team slowly ending up quite average. How did we let Ireland get to 300 in the first place? Ireland let go about two to three catches, about 3-4 run outs, some club level fieldset and very average bowling.

That was tounge in cheek comment.... seriously Latham is pretty useless as a captain. They need to find a backup for Kane soon. I suppose someone like Young can do a better job. Do that and let Latham do what he does best, bat.

Yeah agreed. Watched mainly the first half of NZ innings, but definitely looking more like a team which has played barely ODI cricket since the Lord’s super over than one which is somehow ranked no.1. The 2019 WC attack won’t necessarily work as a combination in India and the second string isn’t great. There’s no batsman under 30 giving the selectors a headache, have to persist with Allen and Phillips and hope they kick on. KW, Conway and Mitchell needed in the XI quite clearly.
Still, nice to see Macewell put in a bid for finisher even if Ireland wilted at the end. Neesham must be pretty worried about his NZ future now.

Its always an issue with them, get through the top order and then a lower order player (bracewell in this situation ) is made to look like Bradman.
That final over of bowling, holy moly.
Not helped that Josh Little seems to be really struggling massively atm sadly.

This was a one man band, hardly got any support at all, Lockie getting 8 off 13 fortunately proved enough.
Yeah it is good. It's not elite, but it's very good. Gets you in the top 2-3% of golfers in NZ
