Had a change of mind since last post in this thread.

Chanders is way ahead here. Inzy, Jaya and MoYo next.

Chanders is way underrated by WI fans as well as CW fans. He is a dead set choice for WI ATG XI over many famed names. I could only think of Sobers, Lara, Viv and Headly above him as batsmen.

Inzy and Mahela were inconsistent, but when set, single handedly controlled the games. These guys are a lesser version of Lara, while Chanders was a lesser version of Tendulkar. Mahela is one of those rare batsmen to completely and utterly master Indian spin juggernaut. Inzy would have been if he played more in India.

MoYo was one of those odd players who were better against pace than spin. But other than for that couple of years in God mode, he was underwhelming.
I agree that Chanderpaul is the best out of the proposed quartet but I wouldn’t rate him that highly in the pantheon of WI greats. I’d say the three Ws and Kanhai are better than Shiv, with Lloyd and Greenidge being same tier as him for sure.

Clearly it is Inzi.

Inzi was rated ahead of Moyo pretty much their entire careers.

Jaya was perhaps the biggest flat track bully of all of these with poor records in all of SENA.

Chanderpaul? Nowhere near as destructive as Inzi. A pretty harmless accumulator.

I think Chanderpaul is afflicted by Beauden/Mo'unga fan syndrome.

Great player but cops the microscope for every error great or small when the scrutiny would be better directed on others who don't make the grade.

Yeah, he is over-criticised. Averages north of 40 against everyone except Zimbabwe which isn’t really an issue. Monster series’ against a variety of opponents and in a variety of conditions. Scored runs for 20 years. Most of that in a weak side ofc. Obviously has his flaws, but for whatever reason he seems to cop it more than players of similar stature to him.
