Roy has been proper ****e since the Ashes that he played.
I love it when a team overestimates its bench strength and pays the price. Hales has been sidelined because Morgan doesn't like him and he's seen as surplus to requirements. Guess who'd be a perfect replacement for Roy? Also hilarious how the exclusion of Ferguson and Bhuvneshwar from the shorter formats has gone for their respective teams.

England still have YJB and Stokes to come into this lineup. They will be fine without both of Roy and Hales.

I do agree with your overall idea though. Seen it too often indeed.
