I'm not too concerned by what looks like a defeat here. Bazball has not rectified the top order problems and we are getting away with things because of Bairstow and Roots batting.

The best part of this summer is Potts and the fact Leach is getting more of a chance under a new captain.

Regardless of outcome, it is also obvious Bairstow at least is not letting Bazball get to his head as he showed such admirable restraint when the ball was doing all sorts and he was never in control for even like 2 consecutive balls. you could argue the reason Bairstow is playing as well as he is is partly because of Bazball. guy is completely in the zone. as a sidenote, what does bazball even mean? Believing in yourself?

I think whoever coined it thought it means taking the attacking option always, not taking a backward step etc etc. But as we have seen already, even Baz himself knows all that is just smokes and screens and when games and series are on the line, everyone will shut up and try to play proper and situation dictated cricket.

He is batting terribly but I dont think it is totally just slogging though. He has to find the balance soon enough for sure though. Wasting immense talent otherwise.
