Yeah suddenly two almost-chances. Things are happening for the spinners and the new ball only three overs away.

Mitchell could end up as being the biggest out of nonwhere success in test cricket.
A 30 something with an ok FC record is the last person you expect to start @ test cricket and immediately start averaging 60's most likely laws of averages will eventually catch up with him but the more I watch him the more I struggle to see him averaging less then 48 in test cricket with his game.

Hmmm, some genuine inconsistent bounce now. Will be interesting to see how Bazball holds up in these conditions.

Yeah, the last 15-20 minutes or so of that session things just started to get a bit interesting. Some turn and variable bounce for the spinners, a bit of zip for the pacers and inconsistent bounce too with the new ball.

Great to start the day with a wicketless session. Hope it doesn't all turn to custard after the break.

Good thing our guy Ajaz Patel with several match winning performances to his name is playing. We're sure gonna need him with all this turn.
Haha, well if it leads to some media scrutiny of the selection team than that’s something at least.

would be interested to know what the record is for the most runs by an NZ partnership in a series is. These two must be running it pretty close now with 704 runs between them.

Well batted by these two once again, really are holding it together for us this series. Get the feeling one wicket brings 4 with our tail so long may it continue
It's ok we still have our fourth and fifth highest series batting averages yet to come this innings - Bracewell with 87 @29 and El Boulto with 51 @ 25.5 ftr.

(Mitchell and Blundell are top by miles and third is CDG with 42 runs which barely counts)

Think someone before posted Crowe and Jones vs. Sri Lanka and these guys are ahead of them.

Some good commentary on the two of them about how they provide almost perfectly complementary challenges. Mitchell very strong down the ground off the front foot, Blundell good square of the wicket and off the back foot. Vs the spinners Mitchell very skilled at the sweep and reverse sweep, Blundell very good with the late cut and back foot drive. And both of them exemplary pullers making the Wagnerball hack a low percentage option.

Hopefully Daryl and Tom aren't sitting next to each other at lunch, don't want them getting too sick and tired of each other.
Man what a bond these two have struck up, can't recall any such successful consecutive partnerships in the middle order.
Having said that, reckon they still need another 200+ before feeling comfortable about the game.
