Nah, Blundell and Mitchell will bat through to lunch and the lead will grow to 230. Then England will trigger a collapse with the 2nd new ball and NZ will be bowled for a bit over 300. England then run down the 280 target in 45 overs for the loss of 5 wickets after being 57/4.

I think we should bring in a couple if newer, hungry players tbh. Mitchell and Blundell aren't as talented as some of the others and regardless of tonight, they've been scoring a lot of runs.
Which tends to suggest it's dozy cricket rather than just being magically bad after 12 months.
If people continue failing in Pakistan then it's time for new blood at home.

I see Southee is on 346 wickets and Wagner on 246 (4 away from 350 and 250). I can't see it but it would be great if they can bowl us to victory and reach their milestones. We need to score a lot more runs first though.

Same I thought the ship has been steadied and max we will lose Latham while Kane and Conway will go their merry way and make hundreds. I thought I was looking at the wrong scorecard when I first threw a glance this morning. Had to clear my eyes to figure we lost 4 in no time.

Yeah that's really queer why we aren't, would have been a very interesting challenge.
As for the Irish, Scots and Dutch, how the heck does one get enthusiastic about any of that.

I still don't get this covid business... most countries have moved on from it. They don't care anymore and rightly so. Heck NZ isn't caring either but NZC still have to listen to the NZCPA. Pretty sure someone like Conway would rather play than take a break.
You'd think Blundell would be a sure shot for the one day squad but he's not. The white ball squad was likely picked before the test squad was announced I think. I for one won't be tuning in although there are some players I would to watch and see how they go.
Both Ajaz and Rachin should also have been there for one day. They were our best two spinners vs Bangladesh only few months ago but they're nowhere to be seen.
