The last 30 mins or so from NZ just boggles the mind, especially given Jaimeson is not batting and we're almost at EOD. Though if Bracewell (evidently taking his role as replacement for CdG very seriously) had got away with it would probably be saying differently.
Slowing down for EOD would be kind of ridiculous in this situation.

I guess they’re behind in the series so are working harder to avoid a draw. Probably went a bit overboard though.

Sets up a cracking final day, though NZ one wicket too many down to feel comfortable you'd think. Hopefully Henry, Boult plus maybe KJ can help Mitchell pull the lead to 280 and then who knows.

if nz can hang around say half of the morning session and get the target close to 300...does anyone think england will chase?

Gotta be one of the most interesting 500 plays 500 game I've seen, if not the most. McCullum has rubbed off on England already by the looks of it.
Definitely some impact but as I think RIS said, there’s a Stokes impact at play too

I think NZ scoring 40 from the next 10 makes it a teasing chase. That makes it 280 from 80. Depends if they get bowled out first though. Can't see England going for a bigger chase but then Stokes and McCullum may want to make another statement. Pitch is still nice to bat on.

‘Conway and Young shared a century stand to overcome the early loss of Latham, who inexplicably shouldered arms to an Anderson delivery which clattered into the top of middle stump, the fifth ball of the innings’.

Don’t worry Tom, you’ll be back at Hagley before you know it, scoring big bully boy runs against some hapless sub-continental opposition.

Reckon Crawley, Pope and Root play normally and go well 4 RPO is about the natural rate. Lees can just prod it around, if you needed 5s to win it you just try to set a 4 RPO base and then promote Stokes at the end.

Would hope we can nip em under 300 though, that's a really rough chase in what would be sub 80 overs

Having only been listening and watched highlights so far, can I get an opinion (or 2) on the wicket? Seems to me that it’s been a good balance bat/ball and all results possible on the last day. Fair play to admins making day 5 free entry tomorrow btw, could be a cracking finish.
