Possibly a perfect morning for us. Got close to their score and get 2 bites with new ball in good conditions. Pressure on NZ as we see it often after 2 big scores the 3rd innings has more pressure and we know what pressure can do to a batting line up.
So you don't think it might have been better to bat until the end of today/hour before closing and try get 150 ahead where NZ would have been under huge pressure? As opposed to them now being 20 runs ahead and maybe putting England under huge pressure lunch time tomorrow?

I mean if we batted till nearly close and were only 150 ahead that would have been odd

Not sure that scenario was ever realistic given the length of our tail. Soon as we lost Root/Foakes this morning an end was opened.

Okay, but not perfect. A lead of 100 was definitely on when Root was in.

****ing hell that went miles. Just got to be trying to hit the stumps high % of the time here ain't you.

Snake out 2 more before lunch in these conditions

I'm beginning to lean towards the idea that this isn't really much of a road, it's just both teams bowled dross in the first innings and caught terribly. Boult and Anderson excepted (which kinda lends credibility to the theory)
