I mean I'd say I give up on Crawley, but let's face it, I never did have much faith. Lees does seem better with positivity as the comms say, but not sure I see a test batsman, but who knows.

Definitely not roads in Sri Lanka.
The Foakes debut series had some seriously spicy pitches. I recall one of the doubles in the recent one being on a road. Or perhaps the bowling was inept. Or maybe the pitches were just less helpful than usual.

He averages 30 in FC cricket. We shouldn't expect miracles. An average in the late 20s is pretty much what you'd expect. A good innings for every 3-4 bad ones. The issue isn't his, it's whoever is selecting someone who's out of his depth.

Well he keeps getting selected despite being useless. That is the issue.

Agreed. We're not rich on options but at the end of the day he'll average what Burns, Sibley, Lees or anyone else does. Crawley just "looks" better than they do so that gets you more rope, plus you know.....Key.....

Wowee, what a score to wake up to. Daryl Mitchell you hero.

Can't help but think we're going to struggle to take wickets with an older ball that isn't swinging, however. Big time for Michael Bracewell

My God that could be a costly drop from the mild-mannered project manager.

The easiest catch he'll ever drop as well.

This Test has followed the pattern of the First with New Zealand people waking up to unexpectedly good news for the first two days. To keep this going England should be poised for a win by the time they wake up tomorrow.
