Okay, this is officially trouble now. Conway's generally been a candidate for that sort dismissal you feel, the incoming delivery from around the wicket. Played well and fell to a good ball, but again the top 4 contribution short of what it should be given the conditions.

Bugger... we just can't carry on from good position of late. Just when it's time to seal the deal we let it get away. Frustrating stuff.

Maybe it's Bracewell's test match. The man will blow us all away.

Had decided was going to bed when Conway goes but now going to stay up to watch Bracewell bat. Hopefully he'll bat tomorrow.

As I type root drops Mitchell. England's catching back to normal i guess.

At least the top order did something, these two were the top scorers in the first test. Hopefully they do it again.

England’s profligacy letting NZ off the hook here a bit, but I suppose if they only bowl 75 overs in the day they’ll still be able to keep the runs conceded under control.

Urgh, the Mcullum has improved our fielding seems a one-off, back to the ****-show.
I feel like England already fielded ok when they were bowling teams out in one session. It was usually the longer innings when they had to concentrate where it fell apart.

why do we have a specialist batsman who averages 33 in FC and bowls a little at #7?

Stead selecting like it's 1994. **** off ****.

Must say I never feel confident in Mitchell when its full but his ringcraft in his career so far has been exceptional. A very assertive and manipulative batsman.

Think the preference for 4 fast bowlers means they'll always be on the lookout for someone who fill the no.7 and bowls spin (see: Santner, Ravindra). This is one of those selections which will no doubt be discussed well after the tour (well, at least on CW); but I'm okay with it if it means Ravindra gets to focus on being an opener instead.

Have a feeling we're going to see a fair bit of Macewell in all formats, possibly a project for the 2023 WC even.
