***Official English Football Season 2021/22***

Well done Rangers, I hope they win it.

The League One Play-Offs are under way while the rest of the EFL are still playing. Wycombe going up would be truly awful, except we won't have to play them next season.

I’m not sure there’s a less appealing football match in the EFL than Wycombe V MK Dons.

Crawley V Stevenage maybe close, but.

Meant to be in the office in Edinburgh training all that week.

Hopefully my boss can get me out of the middle part of the week.

I also don't understand how an analytics team from down south haven't looked at Tavernier's attacking numbers and flagged him for someone to take a punt.

Not that I'm complaining.

Think their squad depth has been pretty good this year TBH, maybe better than Citehs, learnt the lessons of last year, has been able to rotate much more than once he could, but yeah they can't keep up with Citeh's spending, and Haaland would be a game-changer.
Ah Squad depth Leeds United could have been helped by that

Yeah, but like with Moyes, Bielsa seemed to want a close-knit amount of players in a small squaud, hit them both in different ways, just silly to think of football in that way nowadays.

He's peaked very late. Footballing recruitment is strongly biased towards players who peak early.

Ultra-attacking right-backs are most valuable to teams that are one of the best in their division, so in that sense he's in the right place. But yeah he's seemed far too good for the SPL for years now.

His age means he doesn't really fit the recruitment model of a lot of teams too. He'll be 31 by the end of the year, which is pretty old in full back terms.

This isn't a recent phenomenon, he's been doing this for 4 or 5 years now consistently. He was performing to a similar level at both ends of the pitch as Kieran Tierney in a worse team for 2 seasons when they were together in the SPL.

While I appreciate Tierney's youth gives him a massive upside that Tav doesn't have, Tav is English and counts as a homegrown player and would have been available reasonably cheaply. It's amazing to me neither club nor player have been seriously tempted by an offer.

I hope Seville are ready. They might have dodged a bullet with West Ham not making it, but 40,000 capacity stadium and the clubs getting 10,000 each probably means several thousand Rangers fans in town without tickets.

The choice of venue is ridiculous.

Frankfurt also have a massive travelling support, the ground is far too small.

The choice of venue for the Conference League is even worse, thank **** I'm not a Feyenoord or Roma fan trying to get tickets for a 25k venue in ****ing Tirana.

The Tirana one I understand, the whole point of the Conference League is to throw a bone to smaller UEFA members.

The strange thing about the Europa venue is that it's the third-largest stadium in Seville. They could have fitted in another 20,000 just by holding it on the other side of town.

Not sure too many sets of fans could get a match stopped while leading 7-0 and heading for promotion.
Dirty Northern bastards.

Ah well, wasn't to be, the FGR love-in will continue, battered them and lost 1-0, in the end glad it didn't happen when promotion was on the line.
