Whatever it takes!!!
To be fair, with the 2 two additional teams, what we are seeing is that the backup Indian player quality is far lower than it used to be. And unfortunately for CSK, their depth is being tested in the area they have the least backups available.

That said, I dont think any other side would have done much better if they were to lose their best Indian and best overseas seamer. Perhaps DC and KKR as they have a bit more depth with their fast bowling but even they would have struggled without, say, Shardul and Umesh for 4 games.

Yeah, we spoke about this offline last year iirc, regarding the possibility of a dilution of quality with two new teams. From what I see there is some dross playing but we've also given a platform to some really talented young guys who might not have gotten a sniff pre-expansion.

It's amazing that I watch this tournament and I don't have a team to back...just watching cricket for cricket's sake.
I enjoyed watching the last few games of the PSL like that... thanks to @trundler for the motivation. IT was a lot of fun and some good cricket as well as some bad cricket on show... lol.

MSD often says in the IPL it is about making lesser mistakes than it is about making great plays, unlike maybe at the international level.

Looking at some of the new guys that have featured in this year's tournament, I am impressed by their raw talent and the way they carry on with their business. It's just amazing man. It's like watching a young Lara or Kallis or Sachin (not baby lol). Of course, I'm exaggerating to an extent.

Mostly the batsmen tbf... The young Indian bowlers have not looked good. :(

Mumbai's selection and auction strategy this season has been ****ing wierd. Spent bucketloads on archer who can't play, dropped a million on david just to drop him after 2 games where he really didn't get a chance to bat. Now they've dropped all but 2 of there overseas players including there highest wicket tacker this season to bring in a 24 with 8 games of t20 experience to stack there batting, when a)batting hasn't been there issue and b)Kieorn pollard is there 5th bowler now.

They did this with 2 overseas slots left and fabien allen on the bench, who's a gun fielder, great finisher and more then capable of filling in 4 overs of spin. I just don't get it, it's like they've just written off there season already and started doing random stuff for ****'s n giggles.

I think they feel Tilak Verma can bowl a bit as well and they can get 4 out of him and Pollard.
