Not the smartest shot from Johns there. Wellington have gone from looking to construct a pretty sizeable lead when Vishvaka and Johnson were at the crease to struggling to a lead of 50. It's looked to me like the sort of wicket you have to be patient to score runs. Pitch doesn't seem to be doing anything excessive.

Yeah. I re-looked at that today on monitor rather than phone, as I wondered (on small screen) if it was a kiss the gloves while trying to leave it. But .... no.
See it is recorded as LBW on the scorecard now, rather than caught.
