Stumped!

Some interesting OD Friendlies yesterday. ZCC dealt with GG CC in an efficient manner, before a tail-end collapse saw them just inch past Morpork by 16 runs. Jamal Madani took the gloves for both games and we continued to rest Hashim Zahid, so good results to get. Arif Jalal picking up his first ever SOD 5-fer against Morpork was good to see, a box ticked for the ZCC skipper.

FHK's all-Cantonese XI dispatched of Winton CC with ease, but stumbled against Moooo despite a ratings advantage in conditions that should suit them! Just not enough runs on the board, and Moooo completed a comfortable chase (albeit with a bit of a hiccup right at the end). That puts Moooo on 2 consecutive wins against FHK atm! More friendlies will be issued in order to provide the team with an opportunity to avenge this haha.

Winton vs JoJo, almost identically rated and but Winton 74/0 after 11?!
I was left surprised by that too, as much the start as the close ratings - for some reason though Winton was still 4 or so k ahead of JoJo. After an unconvincing start to his JoJo career, Matt Brand doing solidly today and in the last couple friendlies.

Good wins for FHK and ZCC in the CWC4 yesterday! ZCC won the toss, chose to bat, and put 233 runs on the board on a really worn out Room 101 track. This proved to be way more that sufficient, with Chung Yiu and Hashim Zahid combining to utterly wreck the JCC batting lineup. They took combined figures of 15.3-4-31-9 as we bowled them out for 110. 7th win on the trot in CWC4, ZCC on a mission to bring the gold back home!

Meanwhile FHK climbed to 2nd place with a 115 run win at home over TMO. Tony Chung's 117 and Nathan Law's 70 were the bedrock for our 280/7, and the TMO's chase never got off the ground. Clinical performance by FHK, who are now dead-even with TBI on points but are just slightly ahead on NRR.

These wins come off a back of a difficult week for both clubs. ZCC had a mixed week - lost their Dev and SOD fixtures, but picked up a good win in the T20s. We also beat GG CC in a T20 and SOD game, and Dynamo Morpork in SOD game as well.

FHK have had a much rougher week. lost all 3 league matches, the T20 by just 1 run which really hurts. We also lost Friendly games to Dynamo Morpork (T20), Moooo (SOD) and today to Winton CC (SOD). FHK have also lost two friendlies to ZCC, our only win this week was a SOD friendly against Winton CC earlier in the week.

Some big shakeups in store pending the results of today's games.

BTW congrats to @Magrat Garlick for selling Toitasei Zakwe for 650k! I entered the bidding when it was at around 200K and pulled out at around 625K, drove the price up nice and high for you, you're welcome ;)

Bad news at the toss - ZCC are ratings underdogs (63K vs 68K) and have lost the toss and have to field first. We wanted to bat.

Need early wickets or we could be in for a long 50 overs.

Seriously Hyderabad Badshah's have such an imba team. 4 of their top 5 are International cricketers, their keeper is a current Nat player, and their bowling attack has 3 current and 1 former international. Wtf. 9 Nat players in the XI.

Quiet start with the new ball but we really need more wickets. Pitch is good to bat on, once the shine wears off we'll be in trouble. They've got the batting depth to hurt us.

Target of 215 to win.

I'd say it's doable, but it's the hope that gets ya. Reckon this Nat quality attack chews us up for 150.

118/4, Zack and Hashim playing for their careers here. Rumour has it they'll be transfer listed if ZCC lose. Hope is in the air...

Jan CC out of the Cup, and GG CC one wicket away from the same. Season 30 has been a round one for CWC.

What an innings from Danial 'the Protege' Ahsan. Zack with an excellent knock too.

This loss will really sting

We tied! :-O What happens now!?

214/9 in the end, so we had more wickets in hand, but they were the higher rated team coming into this.

Sampath Ramalingam failing to get bat on ball with 1 to win in 5 balls ffs hahaha. I have him on 1 aggression, I just wished he would have played a single push shot. Has 8 defense but only 2 attack, might have helped

The Cup - A worldwide competition, all human teams at the time of the first round draw and enough computer controlled teams to make up the numbers are entered. Each round is drawn randomly with no seeding, with equally shared gate money. Each round victory awards prizemoney and for the first 5 rounds games take place on alternate Sundays. The match format is a 50 overs senior fixture. If a tie occurs, wickets lost is used as a tie breaker, if that is also tied, the away team progresses to the next round. The fans love the cup, as a result tickets are quite pricy - and increase as the competition progresses.
:toot:

We should make it through! In that light Sampath did well to survive those 5 balls!

FHK having a harder go of it in their Cup game. 72/4 batting first at home. I suppose #RunsOnTheBoard is something, but ideally we get around 200ish to stay in the game. 'Only' 6 current and 1 former international in the opposition ranks, with Tin Yau and Lester Shum our only capped representatives. 58k vs 66k gap, arguably greater than the gap that ZCC just overcame.

Schmaltzberg bowling well against a 62k rated Fartland team, while The Wild Geese have started well batting first at home with a ratings deficit against Nite ville. Still a winnable game for them I reckon, just gotta get runs on the board.

Winton CC the luckiest with a comfortable bot bash on their hands, should go on to join ZCC as CWC representatives in the Cup Round 3 :)

Going well so far although we have managed to be 0-3 in our T20 league so far with 2 of the losses being against bots
