CW's Ranking of Batsmen (Tests)

Line and Length

Cricketer Of The Year
Compton's record like Sehwag, great at home but ordinary at overseas.
A bit harsh on Compton, comparing his record with Sehwag's.

Sehwag averaged in the 20s in England, N.Z. and S.A. and a modest average in the '30s playing against minnows in Bangladesh.

Compton averaged a tad under 50 in the Windies and in the mid thirties at all other countries away from home.

Isn't this cherry-picking?

How is it cherry picking?
I have given examples of Sehwag's away record and looked at Compton's complete away record.
Granted Sehwag has performed better close to home (Pakistan and Sri Lanka) and against minnows in Zimbabwe and a sub-par W.I. but the point I was making is that Sehwag failed in several countries while Compton was more than serviceable overseas.

Out of sena, you picked all except Australia.
Out of minnows, you picked bd but not Zim.

And you did not pick other away countries in the first post like WI, sl and Pak where he was good.

Hence, I said that it is cherry picking to just pick the countries where he was bad.

PlayerComparisons

International Vice-Captain
Smith gets in before Hayden or Sehwag in these exercises. So how is he underrated?
Well underrated outside of CW then I guess. Won't see any international player picking Smith over Hayden or Sehwag despite being way better. That's when I realized that peer ratings were somewhat useless.
