Yeah, it's a good soundbite, but it kind of loses its impetus/credibility when you realise he said exactly the same thing in relation to absolutely loads of people, including Benoit, Guerrero and Booker T :s

True, he's not right about everything he says. The Vanilla Midget stuff about Benoit, Guerrero, Malenko and Saturn is ridiculous for example. He's right about other stuff though, especially when he revealed how people were embezzling money from WCW and corruption was rampant just before it ended. For what it's worth, he said he was right about whatever guys he buried and that the TV ratings proved him right.

It's crazy, he's probably the most popular member of the McMahon family, in both the minds of the wrestling fans and from what I've read backstage, astonishing how they have made everyone sick of him. With him out, and even HHH himself being sidelined, it's clear Stephanie's running the show, the one who actually should never have been handed control.

I do think it's a good thing though. It's better if Shane does stay away. I mean he was awesome when he was young and hitting all those insane, athletic spots. But now we’re supposed to buy that this dude is on the same level as Taker and other main eventers despite being a non wrestler, and in his 50’s.

Yeah he's going to be (quite understandably) persona non grata for the forseeable future I'd imagine.

I knew he had posted a load of dumb **** over the years (seems he is big into conspiracy theories), but wasn't aware of just how bad some of his tweets etc. were (i.e. holocaust denial, thinking Jews are lizards etc.). Not quite sure how these went under the radar for so long really.

His apology also smacks of someone who's now realised that they need to do a major cleanup job on their image if they're ever going to work for a high profile fed again.

That's not to say it's not a good apology, but I'm not sure how one can square "these are not my views and never have been" with literally years worth of tweets which categorically state they are his views...

But yeah him going is ultimately a good thing. I have absolutely no desire to see him on television at all, let alone in actual matches (not that I watch at all these days anyway).

Him being gone also saves some decent worker from being wasted on having to work a WM programme with him as well (rumours suggesting it would have been Rollins this year) rather than having an actual match.

Also, RE: HHH, I'd guess his "minor" heart issue was actually anything but minor, and waaay more serious than anyone has been told, given how he seems to have vanished from the face of the earth.

He even roasted & demasculated Braun Strowman for a few months.

I don't believe he's "fired" fired, just a temporary thing. Probably stepped on the toes of the agents and went into business for himself. He can always come back if he wants. Although it's better if he doesn't.

It's a shame that the more interesting story in WWE is the general real life of the McMahons

I think his run as heel GM for Smackdown is what ultimately did for him. Just rammed down the audience's throat in a role that itself is totally outdated. Then as you say the fact that he was positioned in kayfabe as being a viable competitor for people like AJ Styles ffs was just mad (though his match with AJ is probably the best he's had since his return tbf).

Now all he does is throw 50 fake punches and tries to jump from somewhere high in the arena to get a pop. Whenever I see him now it is just sad. He shouldn't portray himself as a great wrestler, just as a boss that's trying to wrestle. Would be more entertaining.

It's especially sad because he's probably the most likeable McMahon out of the lot. Even wanted to buy UFC early on. Sidelined for his sister and now is desperately trying to recreate his glory days.

haha true tbf, that was probably the best match on the entire card from what I remember (despite the lols of Stephanie repeatedly blocking a Rousey armbar)

But from what I remember that feud had a narrative that actually made sense.

And yeah, tbf I remember the buildup to the Rollins match being quite enjoyable, but the match itself was a really long bore.

The Angle/Rousey vs HHH/Stephanie was really good. The most impressive thing in that match was the roll Ronda did & came up holding HHH on her shoulders in what looked like she was gonna do a Samoan drop before Stephanie interfered. But she held a 250 lb man over the back of her shoulders for 5 seconds. The place would have erupted if she completed the move. The one bad thing is that you could clearly tell that Angle had aged a lot when you watch that match, fortunately it didn't take away much overall.

It's always fun when Vince makes a rubbish decision (which bringing Shane in to help book the rumble surely is) and somehow gets away without anyone calling him on out on it. It's all about Shane and how Shane has an ego all of a sudden and he was behaving childish. amazing stuff

Tbh that's kind of all he ever did. It's just that this act doesn't work as well as it used to.

I think one of the issues is just that he's no longer the young dude willing to go out on a limb to show he can hang with the other guys, he's now an old man who is closer to 60 than 50 who jumps off stuff in a desperate attempt to be liked.
