*Official* England in West Indies 2022

Well done Windies, our second-string not quite up to it, but some decent youthful performances from your lot,
We were missing a couple of very important players as well. I think the learning was more important than the results for both sides tbh. Lots to work with.

Not sure its completely our second string. Half and half maybe
Windies also got some missing
Namely Lewis, Hety and Obed, 3 definite starters. Dre Russ as well of course but not sure what the deal is with him.

It was a good development experience for both sides. I wasn't massively into the series at first but it ended up being really fun to watch.

Well, second-string maybe harsh, but Buttler, Stokes, Bairstow, Morgan, Wood, Archer, Malan, Currans, Overton, should be Root, but we are idiots, definitely all in the thinking for the next World Cup. I know Jordan played in the last world Cup, but think we should say goodbye to him now.

I'd say in this side only Ali, Rashid, Roy (actually probably wrongly) are certain starters when they rock up in OZ.

Yet hey-ho we should be better in certain areas, particularly our Death bowling, being worse amongst the Top ODI sides isn't good enough, and it's a problem that has been there awhile whomever plays.

Fantastic for Holder. Always seemed a genuinely likable bloke and tends to get overlooked in discussions about gun contemporary all rounders
Yeah, outstanding. I felt really bad for him when he lost the captaincy a while ago (not that he was T20 captain anyway), but it seems to have actually done great things for his own game.

Windies will be disappointed England won a game at all, but still nice to have a series win.

Lol England is no 1 ranked in T20  surely not after this.
Fantastic series win for Windies. Looking forward to the India tour.

Yes of course, he's one of the best performing players in limited-overs in our country, has height can bat, and is street ahead of the likes of Jordan, Mahmood and Mills IMHO.
Wait which overton are you talking about? Craig "t20 Econ of 9 average of 30" overton, or jamie "t20 average of 30 econ of 9.5" overton.

Jamie can atleast bat I guess. Would rather curran over either but looks like he's trying to avoid t20 so he can get some county matches in.

Which Curran, both are injured anyway. SAm has a decent record hence why I mentioned him too, along with Tom.

Overton was just someone I threw in as better than Mahmood, Mills, Garton and probably Jordan, and wasn't considered because he was in the Oz touring party. I'm not hugely sold. I dream of economy of 9 amongst our pace bowlers though.

I'd add woakes before Overton. If you are talking about only nailed on starters then I agree only Ali rash and Roy are from last nights team though I'd say livingstone probably is too.
Also I'd only put buttler bairstow wood and archer as the undroppable players from the missing list

I actually think it'll probably be between Livingstone and Ali at the World Cup TBH now I come to think of it. It's in Oz, we aren't going to go with 3 spinners, and Mo is looking increasingly worrying against short fast bowling.

I suppose Stone may also come into the reckoning at one point, but with his injury record I'm not holding my breath...

Jamie a couple of years back looked like he might have been a decent option, his bowling (except for FC cricket where he was never any good anyway) seems to have fallen away pretty dramatically since though

Craig has always been far more a red ball bowler, and even then I don't really rate him. From all I have seen (smallish sample size admittedly) in limited overs he just looks about as easily hittable as it gets
