*Official* England in West Indies 2022

I'm not sure this pitch suits Morgan he may have to play himself in for a while here or ii can see him going early but into the last 5 now

I never realised Jaaon Roy was South African also. That's the first time I've heard him talk (and heard his accent).

Is it just me or are England getting literally all of the luck today?

At least 4 inside edges past the stumps and there is no way king should have been given out there.

I do feel like Shai is the last person you want opening when chasing above 160.....

Yeah lots of luck a few edges just out keepers reach for 4 too. Tho could argue they allowed Ali his luck by dropping him twice

darren bravo was rated as the next brian lara, he still got time on his side to show the world what he can do with the batting

Topley's a class bowler. Big if, but he can stay fit regularly, he should be a regular in all three formats imo

Other thought is that Pollard got his tactics wrong today. No overs for Odean and Akheil didn't bowl out but gave himself 4?

He's usually a pretty reliable captain, but today I thought he got a lot wrong.

Rash was the difference here, for me he is already our nest ever spinner in white ball. Fun game can't wait for the next one on Wednesday

Amazing lower order hitting, we have ridiculous depth in power hitting. Can't help but feel it just disguised what should have been a fairly heavy defeat.

Still, it does show the potential of this side with some more experience and a tweak here or there.

We miss Evin Lewis, whose obviously a world class white ball opener. We miss Hety and his ability against spin and we are clearly playing one all-rounder too many.

The side for the India T20s, when hopefully everyone is fit, should be:

Evin Lewis
Brandon King
Nicholas Pooran
Shimron Hetmeyer
Kieron Pollard
Jason Holder
Romario Shepherd
Fabian Allen
Akheil Hossein
Obed McCoy
Sheldon Cotterell

Reserves

Darren Bravo (back up batsman)
Jayden Seales (back up seamer)
Gudakesh Moti (back up finger spinner)
Hayden Walsh Jr (back up wrist spinner)
Odean Smith (back up all rounder)

It's coming together, I can see how this could become a good side.

Holder at 6 is a bit too high. Otherwise good side. I will take a batsman or a batting allrounder like Kyle Mayers instead of Mccoy and play him at 6.

And then, we can get Walsh in for Allen since Akeal will bat at 9 and we don`t need more batting provision beyond that.

I'd go with a similar squad as well.

Evin Lewis
Brandon King
Darren Bravo
Nicholas Pooran
Shimron Hetmyer
Kieron Pollard
Jason Holder
Romario Shepherd
Fabian Allen
Akeal Hossein
Sheldon Cotterell
-
Chandrapaul Hemraj
Kyle Mayers/Sherfane Rutherford
Odean Smith
Obed McCoy/Jayden Seales

Add Shai Hope and maybe Alzarri Joseph to the above list of players and that could be the West Indies ODI squad as well.

Trouble is Obed McCoy is basically our best T20 bowler when on form. I feel he has to play if fit and in form. I also think Darren Bravo takes up too many dot balls, not a massive fan of him in anything other than a finishing role in T20s.
