The salt over broadcaster apparent interference amazes me... it's like lollygate did not happen? So somebody convince me that broadcasters don't have cameras watching players around the world? We have seen it time and again from many broadcasters. Never mind this whole bust up is because 'Hawkeye' was apparently dodgy, which is not run by supersport, rather than accepting the ball bounces on SA pitches? If you are getting hit half a meter or more outside the crease in SA, it is likely going over the top.

Apparent high levels of nutter conspiracy have now crept into cricket world...
Broadcasters have cameras only on one team? And leaks footages of only the opposition players being dicks? Kohli's behaviour is indefensible, but SS should also get some scrutiny given their history.

But that is a lie, never mind that broadcasters from around the world have caught many players doing dodgy things around the world?

If you guys knew anything about media in SA I promise you would not even think of making these facile statements. I promise if a SA player was caught doing something dodgy, it would be blasted all over the waves and put in neon lights because it will sell more papers and have most SA people nodding along going, 'well that's SA for you'.

South Africa in the 2010s were like Pakistan of the and 80s/90s, rampant ball-tampering and everyone knew it. Not a coincidence their captain was caught and banned not once but twice, if you get away with it for so long and so often getting caught once won't stop you.

As far as SA fans go I still have not seen one admit to the criminally poor behaviour (to put it mildly) of everyone involved in the 2018 series from the players (Rabada), the crowd and even the board itself encouraging large-scale crowd abuse of an innocent woman culminating in a miscarriage. "Oh no we weren't doing anything bad Aussies ball tampered and the cameras caught them it wasn't targeted at all"
Can somebody please list supersport history? You know other than catching the Aussies blatantly cheating. And then embarrassing themselves by trying to cover it up in the saddest of ways?
haha yep perfect demonstration

Which means you probably never read any of the comments I made? Not surprising that somebody such as yourself likes to only believe in what you like to post.

That I actually have evidence of a deed and not just making up facile illogical and stupid statements to somehow fit a need to show somebody else is at fault?

Yeah India cameras did catch Smith during brainfade gate in the 2017 series. Not sure if it was a premeditated attempt to catch him in the act but Kohli had suggested in the post match presser that they'd noticed Smith doing it earlier too. So while SS have been the only ones to openly do it I'm not sure it's something particularly unique to them.

I thought the hawkeye was obviously a little dodgy in the first test with regards to the impact point and how they werent showing the batsman playing the shot during the replay. And this Elgar lbw was to me a bit surprising that it didnt even clip, but on watching the replay multiple times now I can see why and don't have any real complaints. I think if Kohli feels the cameras were following their attempts to "clean" the ball and not SA's we can have a discussion on it but the LBW is a bit of a nothing burger afaic.

oh as far as the DRS goes there's no way that was deliberately altered. Ridiculous claim.

But DRS ball-tracking has had some embarassing and obvious failures before, could definitely have been wrong

Also, on the Elgar lbw, I'd like Indian fans to remember that Ashwin's a tall guy and he often doesnt get these kinds of LBWs on bouncier decks. It happened 3-4 times in Australia where to the naked eye literally everyone thought it was hitting but ended up bouncing over. One example here at 2:20 to Labuschagne.

Everyone was baffled it bounced over, but you put a tall bowler on a bouncy pitch and that's what you get. The difference in Australia was Kohli wasnt there to have an almighty strop about it and the bowlers kept their heads after it happened.

This is where I am at. I dunno if the bounce co-efficients and stuff were properly overlaid, the images never were till the last test but hawkeye projections have looked iffy all series, including ones where the RSA batsmen were given not out but then came back as out on DRS when I was sure it was, at best, umpire's call. Forgot who the batsman was but right from the very first decision of Mayank, I have maintained hawkeye has been dodgy this series. It just hurt us at the worst possible time.

FWIW, I felt that was iffy of hawkeye too when it happened.

But cameras are always on the batsman when they are given out and discussing taking up DRS or not. Come on, this is false equivalency at best.
Yes I agree, only reason I mention it is because Kohli said it wasnt the first time it happened. So, while unlikely, its not out of the realms of possibilty that they were looking for it.

Yeah that's not the same thing at all. Smith "brainfade" was at the centre of play in front of everyone right after a wicket, just happenstance. The SA camera sniping is protracted, targeted and tactical.

Nope, that is an amazing reach when literally every time a decision is given against the batsman, the cameras are on the batsman with the DRS counter ticking. Its stupid to even suggest someone has to ASK for the camera to be on the batsman in the given situation.

Also I'm not sure India should be bothered by the cameras following Rahul's attempts to maintain the ball if there wasnt anything going on anyway Neither India or SA got any reverse throughout the series. I dunno, it just seems like a bit of a non story that Kohli's allowed to get under his skin.

lol I remember that, that was just Kohli being Kohli. It was a nonsense comment from him given that was the first time the situation had arisen all series and his claim that it had happened before was pretty easy to prove spurious

Anyway, last thing I'll say is that Kohli complaining that the camera is on him and his team too much goes against everything he is as a cricketer. Dude is begging for attention everytime he's on the field let's be honest.

Peace out.

You can go back all the way to the Atherton dirt in my pocket incident to see players being caught and watched on camera. It is spurious to claim only one broadcaster does it, or does it worse than others. While players are on the field there is a chance a camera will catch you when doing something nefarious.
