most of the indian top order batters careers are over overseas.

They cannot play seam bowling. mayank, puj, rahul, rahane have pathetic records against seam bowling overseas recently. kohli is out of form.

rishabh pant just saved face.
that was one seriously inept performance from the world's no.1 test side.

its fair to say, in these conditions, the best team in tests is definitely new zealand.
Rahul is alright. Can't expect to play only Gavaskar level openers in the team. Have to make do with the best of what we have got.

also all india players out caught. thats a telltale statistic. in both innings. shows the difficulty most batters face on green wickets.

i guess shreyas, vihari and one other top indian domestic batter should get a look in after this series defeat is confirmed.

hes the top domestic batter

Give Iyer a chance by all means but there's no way he's thriving in foreign conditions. Best look elsewhere for long-term prospects.

Whatever it takes!!!
Rahul yes but Ashwin has never been a shrinking violet on the field
Rahul's was the stupidest comment though. Virat was completely right in his comments and Ashwin's was very much heat of the moment, like literally straight after the ball tracking came back. Rahul's was just weird both in timing and message.

He'll only learn by playing. None of our domestic bats are built to score runs overseas.

Might be worth punting on some 20 year old wonderkid and letting him learn on the job, but otherwise Iyer/Sarfraz/Vihari/Washington are probably our best bets.
