The Wheel is Forever
The strength of opposition must also be taken into account. This is certainly the weakest SA side since readmission, the weakest England team possibly ever and the Australia sides that India beat are also some of the weakest for many decades. It would also be important to note that India lost the WTC final, a match in which they were favourites.

That's not to put this group of players down, I would rate them very highly as a team but we have to factor in that there were other great teams also, not just WI and Aus, Pak in the 80s and early 90s were phenomenal, India themselves in the 00s were very competitive against much better Aussie sides, as well as various Aus, WI and English sides pre-1975, although that is quite a different era.
This is the fakest of fake news. Before the series, many in Australia were saying it was their best attack ever and they had Smith back unlike the previous series. England have been playing cricket for a long time and it’s ridiculous to claim that this side with Root and Anderson and co is the weakest ever.

Was he this **** on the '18 tour of Aus? Seemed like a legit opening prospect then, albeit a little too expansive for his own good. Certainly didn't have all these glaring flaws in his game.
The back lift has changed a lot. But I reckon he got lucky that tour that he wasnt fed to Cummins and haze in the first two tests which were significantly more bowler friendly.

That was coming soon for sure based on the past few balls. Not sure if Mayank is really worth pursuing as an opener for the future.

Reckon becoming a good T20 batsman has ruined Mayanks red ball batting. Gets squared up often and is often on the move when meeting the ball.
