Auckland coach Heinrich Malan to coach Ireland. Great choice. Would be happy with him coaching NZ. The Auckland players coming through (notably Jamieson) all give him tons of credit.

At one stage his side would have had Guptill, Raval, Phillips, Chapman, Munro, CdG, Jamieson, Ferguson and Somerville if they had been available, and he's been around through the rise of most of those guys except for older players like Guptill.

******** has been a scientific term for centuries, it basically means "slowed down". Only last few decades it's become purely a "bad" word
yea comes from the same family of words as the italian “in ritardo” which is just the italian word for late.

don’t know if the english equiv comes specifically from that or maybe a similar word from french or whatever but yeah

maybe it was a technical term back in the day
It's the only time I've seen it used for slow-motion photography. Newreels from the 20s read 'slow motion'.

First part of your sentence, I bloody well know that. For the second, I was surprised to hear someone use it as an insult in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World; so at least some have been using as an insult as early as 1963.
