Elgar 75, couple of 30s from Bavuma and Jansesn, SA win by 3 wickets. They'll stroll most of it before giving away a few wickets at the end to give false hope.

India's pace attack have lacked the height that SA have and it's clearly made a difference even though they've not exactly bowled terrible. Also have looked unable to penetrate in the initial stages of an innings/day when the roller is in effect. It might be too late to wait for the effect to wear off today if they dont get 1-2 wickets immediately.

Omg these are pretty much exactly my thoughts.

The roller part is what’s gonna screw this lot. They have been poor in the initial stages of innings/day. And they are probably missing Ishant’s height, though he’s past his best.

Honestly deep down I too feel that SA will cruise for most part before losing few wickets at the end. 200/3 or 200/4, then 240/6

Now Pujara and Rahane got to 50, they can't be dropped for next test. If they fail to get to 50 in that test however will they be retained for the Next series? Seems like these 50s shouldn't extend their careers too much longer but they probably will

The selectors are almost certainly looking for excuses for retain them for the medium term, those 50s are more than enough.

Who would you guys want to see out first? Pujara or Rahane?

Suppose Vihari was a lock for next game, who would you drop in his place?

pujara should be dropped

stopped trying to score after reaching 50 like he had secured his spot, blocked too much and got out

vihari was top class yesterday and should bat 3

but depending on mayank's injury yesterday while fielding, vihari might open for us in cape town and i like that option because he does not fish outside off even if he does not score much early in his innings

If you think someone shouldn't be playing and they register a failure a score of 50 odd you're not going to change your mind, but you do kind of need to look at it from the perspective of someone who thought they should both be playing this game given the selectors will be the same people.

If you picked them for this game, even under the caveat of "thin ice", and they both notched up a cLuTcH 50 in a low scorer, you'd probably not change your mind either. Especially if you won.

If you're going to keep one and bin the other I'd definitely keep Rahane. Either way you're definitely picking these players on long-term proven ability and not recent performances, and Pujara doesn't really have anything to offer on that front in terms of either a bouncy-wickets batsman or a batsman in South Africa specifically than Rahane across their careers.

Is it just me or are they giving less time for players to go for review in this series. It appears like there are 10 seconds to review a decision in this game while in the Ashes test they are giving 15 seconds to go for a review.

With Vihari getting runs, would India have the guts to drop Rahane for the decider in Cape Town? Although Rahane got runs, he as always looked edgy. Vihari started off edgy too but seemed to get the hang of SA bowling.

The biggest flop in the line up is Pant. What a reckless T20 deathover slog. It also didn't help that Ashwin & Shami unfortunately nicked down legside to ordinary balls. There were too many wickets gifted, while SA has fought hard to protect each and every wicket!
Lol Rahane has scored more runs than Pujara this series.. If anyone deserves to go its him. He out scored Pujara even here & looked far more fluent.

Target is still pretty far away & that 1st hour will probably decide the game. SA will have to play badly to lose from here. India needs to get that 1st one early

just noticed Keshav has bowled 2 overs in the entire game hahahaha

Ashwing 18-1-49-1 looks good in context. Might have a big role to play today.
