What do we even do with green at this point? More shield cricket isn't gonna help him and hauling him over to the subcontinent isn't gonna help him much either. Don't think he gets in next test anyway with ussie making 50 and head coming back.
I actually don't see any chance he gets dropped, Bailey has been big on backing in incumbents long-term.

Honestly if anything he just needs to start playing some shots, just so tentative right now. He's completely lost his off stump because of his technical changes.

Well I think bowlers at least know his technical flaw. Reckon he might struggle upon return to Shield cricket. I wouldn't pick him for the subcontinent unless you actually need 30 players in a squad.

Bailey is just mad he never got to play in SA.

2013-14 Ashes was fairly bowler friendly. But I think you have to go a lonnnnngggg time before you find a series in Australia as bowler-friendly as this.
i think that series was more excellent bowling generally, even from the poms at times than it was the pitches

He should have been opening since the 2019 Ashes.

Seriously, imagine thinking Joe Burns is a better batsman than a bloke who averages 40 in Tests
What, the uzzie who was mentally shot after his brother got done on terrorism charges and could barely buy a run batting 3/4 bar a ton vs a dog **** SriLankan side that everyone got runs against should have been opening? FFS he couldn't even buy a shield run post the 2029 ashes for a solid season.

Like him or not, Burns at least was hovering around 40 for a bit and could feast on batting friendly wickets if he was in. Bloke has tons opening unlike the duds we've tried since Sandpapergate.

He probably should have had the gig initially for that Ashes. Selecting Bancroft was obscene.

That being said, not saying he would have succeeded in England. Hasn't in County Cricket.

Also one more comment on Burns and the whole incumbency issue. Selecting him for the BG Trophy last year when he was that out-of-form was incredibly idiotic and borderline sabotaging of his international career in Tests.

Was the only good time to select the fraud.

I thought about doing a thread once, but the post sandpaper gate opening round-a-bout is more fascinating than the post warne spinning one

Cameron Green is having the Mulder problem. His confidence is shot and doesn't know where his offstump is. Massive technical issues he's got to deal with.
