The simplest solution is to move Markram to 4 and bring in another opener (J Malan is someone who looks good from what I have seen). But your selectors seem convinced its opening or bust for Markram. And he actually IS a generational talent.

I disagree with regards to his technique. There is something very clunky about it. When he is slightly out of form I don't think his technique can compensate much. To me it's almost like he premeditates without watching the ball under his eye.

On Petersen, still think he has some technical issues to sort out but looks a good player that should help SA get outs of its current funk. Hopefully they bring in Rickelton for the next Test and drop Markram to 4. Not necessarily going to work but will be looking forward and not backwards.

And please get van Tonder and Breetzke into the squad asap.

J Malan is batting at 4 these days in domestics...so it won't be him.
